At Mechatronic Technology, we recognise that the sun is always there and always free; however, harnessing its power and converting it into usable electricity is not free and too often is out of the reach of impoverished people in our rural localities who have access to little or no electricity, something that the cities so often take for granted.
Mechatronic is making a difference in recognising that solar energy can be beneficial to governments’ developmental plans in terms of the health, wellness and education of rural, off-the-grid populations as well as some urban areas in Nigeria.
Our solutions are primarily targeted at rural Schools and Community Health Centres. We install self-contained solar-energy units that provide electricity to schools, which in turn provide pupils with a place to study even after school hours. In addition to providing the solar-panel units, we install, in tandem with the solar panels, water-purification systems that run off the electricity supply.
At Mechatronic, we believe that if rural schools have Solar powered lights, the students can apply themselves to their studies in comfort, while rural health centres would feel the impact of electricity by providing power refrigeration for preserving many life-saving vaccines and drugs that reduce maternal-infant-mortality.
The obvious benefits of adequate light, could better the lives of a rural health centre’s patients. The importance of having access to clean, uncontaminated and potable water cannot be overstated. The provision of safe drinking water is a further benefit that solar energy provides to impoverished communities.
